Some outfits are soft and romantic, and some have a little more attitude. Today? I decided we could absolutely do both. 😂❤️
I went with burgundy, black leather, and just enough gold to make everything feel a little dressed up. It’s one of those looks that feels classic without being boring—and yes, I found a way to sneak in a butterfly, too. ♡

❧ Burgundy Meets Black ❧
The starting point is my wine-burgundy V-neck sweater, tucked into high-waisted black wide-leg trousers. I love the contrast of that rich color against black. Then I added my black leather coat, which gives the whole outfit a more structured, confident feeling.
And you know me: the belt matters! 😂 A black belt with a gold double-circle buckle ties the pieces together and adds a little sparkle right at the waist.
❧ The Shoes Deserve Their Own Moment ❧
Today’s shoes are burgundy patent platform Mary Janes with chunky heels and gold buckles. They’re shiny, a little vintage, and just the right amount of fun. The burgundy picks up the sweater beautifully, while the platform adds a little personality to those flowing trousers.
❧ A Butterfly and a Little Gold ❧
For my hair, I went with an updo and a gold butterfly clip. It’s such a pretty little detail against my auburn hair, and I love that it softens the leather coat.
I added layered gold necklaces with a teardrop pendant and gold tassel earrings. And the finishing touch? My shimmering mustard-gold almond nails—still bringing a little autumn sunshine along for the ride. 💛
❧ Classic, Effortless, Confident—Still Me! ❧
I think that’s what I enjoyed about putting this one together. The sweater is cozy, the leather coat brings a bit of edge, the shoes are wonderfully retro, and the butterfly is there to remind everybody that I will always find room for something feminine. 😂
Now tell me: Are you a burgundy-and-black kind of girl, or would you swap the leather for something softer? And can we agree those Mary Janes are awfully cute? ♡
With a little lace and a lot of style,
Katie ♡
