❧ Camel Suede, Black & a Little Gold ♡ ❧

Illustrated Outfit of the Day collage featuring a camel suede dress, black blazer, black velvet bow, gold earrings, brown belt and floral tan heels

Today’s outfit started with one of those pieces that does most of the work for you: my camel suede midi dress. It’s soft, swishy, very autumn, and somehow makes getting dressed look much more complicated than it actually was. 😂🤎

I paired it with black, brown, and gold, and the whole thing landed right in that sweet spot I love—polished enough for the office, but still feminine and a little romantic.

❧ Suede, Structure & a Defined Waist ❧

The dress is a sleeveless camel suede midi with a full, flowing skirt, so I added my black blazer for a little structure. I love what black does against camel—it makes the warm suede look even richer without taking away from it.

At the waist, I added my brown belt with the gold double-circle buckle. That little bit of brown bridges the camel dress and my bag, while the gold buckle starts the thread of gold that runs through the rest of the outfit.

❧ Yes, the Shoes Get Their Own Paragraph ❧

Because obviously. 😂 My tan heels with the dimensional floral detail are one of those pairs that can turn a neutral outfit into something special all by themselves. They’re close enough to the camel dress to keep that long, warm-toned line going, but the flowers make them unmistakably me.

❧ A Black Bow & a Little Gold ❧

My hair is pulled back with a big black velvet bow, which ties straight back to the blazer and gives all those warm neutrals a crisp little anchor.

For jewelry, I wore my long gold twisted drop earrings. They’re simple from a distance, but the chain-like texture catches the light beautifully. Between those, the belt buckle, and the gold details on my brown tote, there are just enough repeating touches to make everything feel intentional without becoming too matchy-matchy.

❧ Classic Neutrals, but Make Them Katie ❧

I think that’s my favorite thing about this outfit. On paper it’s basically camel, black, and brown—very sensible grown-up colors. 😂 But then there are the flower shoes, the enormous velvet bow, the gold earrings, and all those little details that keep it from feeling plain.

It’s classic. It’s office-ready. It’s autumn without screaming PUMPKIN! And it still has just enough romance tucked into the details to feel like mine. ♡

Would you wear camel and black together, or would you be tempted to add burgundy instead?

With a little lace and a lot of style,
Katie ♡

And one last thing… 😂 I have to admit, today’s outfit is totally feeding into my Sherlock Holmes kick right now. Between the camel suede dress and the black suede blazer, I’m feeling rather Victorian—and I am absolutely not mad about it. Apparently my current obsession has officially escaped into my closet. 🕵️‍♀️🤎
