❧ When Life Falls Apart, God Is Still Good ♡ ❧

Some mornings, I open my Bible because I need to be reminded of something I already know, but am having a hard time holding on to.

This morning was one of those mornings.

Life can feel like it’s falling apart around me sometimes. There are things I can’t fix, answers I don’t have, and moments when everything feels like too much. I don’t always know what to do with those feelings. But this morning, I found myself in Psalm 46.

❧ Even When the Earth Gives Way ❧

Psalm 46 begins with the reminder that God is our refuge, our strength, and our ever-present help in trouble. It goes on to describe the earth giving way, mountains falling into the sea, and waters roaring.

That’s a pretty powerful picture of things coming undone, isn’t it?

Maybe my world isn’t literally crumbling into the sea. But there are days when it sure feels like the ground is shifting beneath my feet. And what touched me this morning is that the psalm doesn’t say trouble won’t come. It reminds me that God is with me right in the middle of it.

❧ Be Still ❧

A little farther down, there’s that familiar reminder: “Be still, and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10)

I needed those words today.

Because when life feels out of control, my first instinct is often to try to figure everything out. To fix something. To find a way to make it all feel steady again.

But being still reminds me that I don’t have to hold the whole world together. God is still God, even when I don’t understand what He’s doing. I can trust Him without knowing how everything is going to turn out.

❧ The Prayer I Wrote This Morning ❧

I wrote a prayer in the margin of my Bible this morning. I reminded myself that even if the earth gives way and the mountains fall into the sea, I do not have to be afraid. God is my refuge and fortress. He is in control, no matter how much life feels like it’s falling apart around me.

And then I wrote something I want to keep close: I can rest knowing You are with me, protecting me and loving me through it all.

Not because every hard thing will disappear today. Not because I suddenly have all the answers. But because God is good, and He is here.

❧ A Little Prayer for Today ❧

Dear Lord, when everything around me feels uncertain, help me remember who You are. You are my refuge, my strength, and my ever-present help in trouble. Help me be still when I want to panic, and trust You when I cannot see what comes next. Thank You for staying with me, for loving me, and for being my fortress through it all.

Amen. ♡

If life feels a little shaky for you today, too, maybe Psalm 46 is a good place for both of us to sit awhile.

With faith, even on the hard days,
Katie ♡
