There’s just something about homemade banana bread that makes the kitchen feel a little cozier. Especially when you’ve got a few ripe bananas sitting around practically begging to be baked into something. 😂
I wanted to make something for the boys that would work for breakfast or an easy snack, so I started with a rich, classic banana bread recipe and made a couple of little changes.
First, I added French vanilla protein powder. Then, instead of sour cream, I used Chobani Zero Sugar Vanilla Greek Yogurt.
Nothing too complicated. Just a little extra protein tucked into something homemade and delicious. And really, who doesn’t love a warm slice of banana bread? ♡
❧ Katie’s Vanilla Protein Banana Bread ❧

❧ Ingredients ❧
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1¼ cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup French vanilla whey protein powder
- ½ cup butter, melted
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup Chobani Zero Sugar Vanilla Greek Yogurt
❧ Let’s Make Banana Bread ❧
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a 9 × 5-inch loaf pan.
- Mash the ripe bananas in a bowl.
- In a separate mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar. Mix in the eggs, vanilla, mashed bananas, and Greek yogurt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, vanilla protein powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and gently stir until combined. Avoid overmixing.
- Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for approximately 50–65 minutes, checking toward the end. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a cooling rack.
❧ A Little Note from My Kitchen ♡ ❧
This recipe started as a traditional rich banana bread, but I wanted to experiment with making it a little more filling for the boys. The French vanilla protein powder replaces part of the flour, and the vanilla Greek yogurt takes the place of sour cream.
It’s still banana bread, though. We’re not pretending a cup of sugar suddenly turned into a health food. 😂 Sometimes it’s just nice to make something homemade, use up those ripe bananas, and have a little something ready for busy mornings.
