I have been waiting to wear these shoes since approximately five minutes after they arrived. 😂
And yes, I may have been a completely unreasonable amount of excited about putting this outfit on this morning.
But LOOK AT THEM.
The whole outfit started with my flowy mustard-yellow cold-shoulder top. It already has so much movement and drama on its own, so I kept the bottom simple with black leggings and added a black double-ring belt to give the top a little shape at the waist.
❧ The Shoes Deserve Their Own Section ❧
Because obviously they do.
These mustard bow heels match the top so ridiculously well that I genuinely could not have planned it better. They have a peep toe, platform front, crisscross straps, a high heel, and—most importantly—a giant bow across the front.
They are not subtle shoes.
Neither am I, apparently. 😂
I love that the black leggings let all that mustard stand out without competing with it. And because apparently one bow was not enough for today, I tied a matching mustard satin ribbon into my ponytail too.
❧ A Little Antique Gold ❧
For jewelry, I went with warm gold tones to keep everything feeling rich and autumn-y instead of adding another color.
My necklace has a black cord with an ornate round antique-gold filigree pendant, and I paired it with dangling gold earrings. I love the slightly old-fashioned feeling they give the outfit. The top and heels are definitely the statement pieces, but the jewelry makes the whole thing feel a little more like me.
And somehow my current floral nails fit right in too—the soft dusty pink flowers and tiny gold details are such a pretty little contrast against all the mustard.
❧ One of Those Outfits ❧
You know those outfits that are technically just clothes, but somehow make getting dressed feel fun?
This was one of those.
I had the shoes sitting beside the top the night before because I was so absurdly delighted that they matched. Then I found the matching ribbon, and that was it. I was committed. 😂
It is bright, feminine, a little dramatic, very bow-heavy, and probably impossible to be grumpy in.
Today’s outfit: flowy mustard cold-shoulder top, black leggings, black double-ring belt, mustard bow platform heels, mustard satin hair ribbon, antique-gold filigree pendant necklace, and dangling gold earrings.
Tell me: would you wear the giant bow heels, or are these firmly a “Katie shoe”? 😂
